Ann Marie Hawthorne

Operations Director CHOICES CARE 

Profile: Ann Marie has a wealth of experience in Learning Disability practice across a range of health, social care and educational settings. A Registered Nurse educated to Masters level her expertise strengthens the Operations Team from both a management and quality perspective.

Role: Ann Marie has management responsibility for the operational team and leads 800 employees ensuring that professional standards of service are reflected in care delivery ensuring all-round effectiveness, and influencing operational direction in the company as a whole.

Ann Wood

Head of Quality Learning & Development

Profile: Ann is an experienced senior Nurse Manager, with expertise in the management and delivery of high quality person focused services. She has a record and reputation for being able to interpret the needs of the individual, translating them into services that are person centred.

Role: Ann leads the Quality, Learning & Development Team, which ensures that CHOICES CARE has appropriate processes and training that support the delivery of high quality services.

Claire Donnelly

Head of HR

Profile: A Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development with over 10 years HR experience gained within the Finance and Healthcare sectors.

Role: Claire is responsible for day-to-day operational HR management support to Directors and Managers. The HR team develop and implement policies and procedures necessary for the efficient and effective running of the organisation. This includes recruitment management, performance review, welfare and benefits and, when necessary, discipline and grievance.

Dawn Forrest

Head of Administration

Profile: Dawn has over 10 years of business administration management experience, gained in the healthcare sector. She joined the CHOICES CARE team in 2000, taking responsibility for leading and managing the administration function of the organisation.

Role: Responsible for overseeing the administration function of the organisation, including maintenance and property related matters.

Denis O’Brien

Financial Director, CHOICES CARE


Profile: Denis is trained as an accountant, and has 25 years of experience working across several industry sectors (manufacturing, retail, construction and care) and all key aspects of accounting and finance, management, forensic accountancy, corporate growth, management buy out and buy in.

Role: Denis is responsible for the finance and contracts function of CHOICES CARE. His experienced staff team of 10 are absolutely committed to their individual responsibilities and challenges and delivery of robust, timely and accurate financial and contractual information and to always fully support CHOICES’ care operations.

Douglas Morrison

Head of IT and Accounting Systems

Profile: Douglas has over 20 years experience in the financial sector. Throughout his career he gained vast experience in all aspects of finance including management and buyout experience.

Role: As Head of IT and Accounting systems, Douglas is responsible for ensuring that the Choices Group has the correct IT and accounting system infrastructure to provide accurate timely information throughout the organisation, meeting the growing requirements of the Group. He also heads up the implementation of the new electronic call monitoring system, being installed throughout the Choices Group over the next 12 months.

Fiona Ford

Operations Director, CHOICES CARE at Home


Profile: Fiona, a registered nurse, has a wealth of experience in the management, commissioning and contracting of Home Care services. She has worked in both, public and private sectors.

Role: Responsible for managing CHOICES domiciliary care operations. Fiona leads a team of 451 employees delivering high quality services to the people we support in West and Central Scotland.

Teresa Mair

Management Accountant (Care at Home Services)

Profile: Teresa studied Accounting and since graduating, has spent most of her time caring for people in need and developing key insight into the operations of care services. Teresa has a Diploma in Health & Social Care and a Registered Manager In Care (SVQ level IV).

Role: Teresa has responsibility for pursuing contract opportunities to maximise growth and development of CHOICES CARE at Home

Sheila Head

Regional Director (North East England)

Profile: Sheila has worked within the healthcare sector for many years both in the independent and public sectors. Her background of being a Registered Nurse has complemented her managerial skills so that she continues to develop person centred services whilst ensuring a quality, value for money, operationally sound, delivery of care services.

Role: Sheila has managerial responsibility for staff and services delivered throughout the North East of England. She works closely with the integration team, ensuring compliance as well as contributing to the overall strategic management of operations.
