Executive Chairman Message

I am very privileged to have an extremely experienced, energetic and committed team of caring people to work with in our task of delivering a high standard of care to the vulnerable people who we support. Our aim of trying our best to treat each of our Service Users individually and sensitively comes from our empathy with those circumstances.

We are also determined to listen very carefully to any concerns raised by our service users or other stakeholders and do all we can where our own caring performance could be improved.

We believe that people with disabilities have a right to exercise control in all areas of their lives, and that the role of service agencies and their workers is to support people in their daily lives. In CHOICES CARE, this process of support is, as it should be, fundamentally different to the traditional interpretation of the caring role. We reflect these values in all of our work and in every type of service that we provide, and in this way seek to value people with disabilities as people first and foremost.

We believe that people with disabilities have a right to be part of the local community in which they live. We recognise that people with multiple disabilities require a great deal more support, if they are to have the same opportunities to live an ordinary life as other people.

To this extent we believe in positive discrimination, where it seeks to remedy the effects of social prejudice and injustice. This is particularly the case where people with disabilities do not share the same common rights as other citizens, or where the bureaucratic, judicial or legislative processes frustrate the rights of self determinacy for a particular group of disabled people.

I hope you will find our website interesting and informative. However, in particular, I hope that in any dealings you have with CHOICES CARE, you find our staff caring, concerned and courteous. We aim, 24 hours of each day, to get as much right as we can in caring for the people we support.

I welcome any comment or observation on anything that CHOICES CARE is trying to do and I can be contacted by email paul.neeson@choicescare.com or through our Head Office in Livingston (01506 409999).
