Without doubt this is the most challenging and exciting job I have ever had. It is especially so because I can see the positive outcomes that our professional and dedicated staff achieve for our service users, many of whom are living in their own homes for the first time in their lives, with our support.
Fiona Hamlton (Payroll Supervisor) , Douglas Morrison (Finance Manager) and Elayne Dodds (Ledgers Supervisor) report directly to the Finance Director.
I entered the nursing profession in 1988 and throughout my career have gained considerable experience in the design, delivery and continuous improvement of person centred services. I remain committed to working with service users and stakeholders and strive to ensure that CHOICES CARE places the needs, views and opinions of our service users at the heart of service delivery.
My role is one of taking responsibility for the leadership of the CHOICES CARE Board, ensuring its effectiveness and setting its agenda. I facilitate Board relationships and ensure there is a constructive relationship between the Executive and Non-Executive Directors.
I also work closely with the Chief Executive of CHOICES CARE and when required act as a sounding board/mentor/advisor.
These are roles I take very seriously and am totally committed to CHOICES CARE becoming an exemplary provider within the field of Learning Disability Services. I do not and will not compromise on the quality of care and services we offer both to and for our service users.
Outside of work my interests are gardening, water colour painting, wildlife conservation, sports and classic cars, reading and athletics.
