The Induction process starts at the beginning of employment with attendance at the 4 day Induction programme. This programme is classroom based and comprises of a range of sessions including:

  • CHOICES CARE Values, Underpinning Principles and Policies
  • Understanding Learning Disability
  • Understanding Autism
  • Awareness of Person Centred Approaches to Care
  • Food Hygiene Awareness
  • Risk Assessment
  • Health & Safety e.g. fire safety
  • Moving & Handling
  • Responding to Health Care Emergencies

The programme involves active participation in a range of learning experiences with clear learning outcomes and a balance of theory and practice.

On successful completion of the 4 day programme new employees work as part of the support team under the guidance and mentorship of their line manager. Learning and development in service specific issues will continue in the work place supported by your supervisor/ line manager.
